About Alsace wines

In Alsace, unlike other French vineyards, the terroir does not give its name to the wines, it is the grape varieties themselves. The Alsatian vineyard extends over an area 170 km long, located at the foot of the Vosges massif, which stretches from Marlenheim in the north to Thann in the south, added by a wine-growing island on the edge of Germany, around Wissembourg and Cleebourg. The variety of soils and the different sinuosities of the relief make it possible to create dry, sweet and sparkling wines.

Alsace wines come from 7 grape varieties, namely: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir. At Domaine Pfister, you will find the 7 grape varieties, but also Crémants!

Did you know ? Crémant d’Alsace has become the first AOC sparkling wine consumed at home in France, after champagnes!

Your winegrower near Obernai will be happy to inform you about the wines of his region, to share with you his passion for vines and to let you taste the estate’s wines!
